With this signing, the two organizations agreed to cooperate in operating a collaborative online Sejong Institute, and to use SKA (Sejong Korean Evaluation) as a tool for testing the Korean language proficiency of scholarship holding foreign students. In addition, they agreed to cooperate on Korean cultural experience programs aimed at the foreign students staying in Korea.

The Sejong Institute Foundation is a public institution under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, that supports the operation of the Sejong Institute, and helps with the spreading of Korean language education, and Korean culture around the world.

The POSCO TJ Park Foundation expects that this agreement will enhance the understanding of the Korean language and culture by providing reliable Korean language education to scholars during their early stages of studying in Korea. There is also a future plan to provide Sejong Institute's online Korean language education programs to scholars attending local universities in Asia region.

The POSCO Asianfellow program, which was established in 2005, has so far provided learning opportunities to 445 Asian students from 32 different countries. After graduation, some graduates are working as government officials or university professors in their home countries, while others are working and growing in global companies and media companies. In addition, fellows created “POSCO communities” in Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia in order to engage in volunteer works and activities, and to serve as global POSCO representatives in their country.
