From Peking University’s letter of appreciation regarding POSCO TJ Park Foundation’s scholarship support -

 

On May 4th, POSCO TJ Park Foundation received a letter of appreciation from Peking University, celebrating its 122nd year anniversary, for its continued scholarship support for the last 15 years.

 

In particular, as numerous families are lost in grief and facing trouble and global economy is slowing down due to COVID19 pandemic, Peking University sent out a message that it will make a greater contribution to the progress of civilization and revival of the nation by firmly protecting its spirit including humanistic value, scientific spirit, and open embrace.

 

POSCO Asia Fellowship scholarships, which is being offered to 19 universities in 11 Asian countries, has working together with Peking University since 2005, and provided scholarships to 295 outstanding students for the last 15 years.

Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary General Zhao Wenli (赵文莉) of Peking University Education Foundation stated at the last certificate ceremony that “POSCO TJ Park Foundation Asia Fellowship scholarship is the oldest scholarship in Peking University, and while many leading conglomerates have stopped scholarship support due to bankruptcy or financial difficulty, POSCO TJ Park Foundation not only supported scholarship continuously for 15 years, but also increased its amount as well, and the global corporation POSCO’s realization of corporate value will set a great example to Peking University, especially the scholarship recipients.”

 

POSCO Asia Fellowship is one of the key businesses that POSCO TJ Park Foundation promotes to improve mutual understanding of Asian countries and expand exchange and cooperation, and consists of ‘Scholarship for Asian Students Studying in Korea’, an inbound scholarship that invites talented Asian students to Korea for the pursuit of master’s & doctorate degrees, ‘Scholarship for Asian Excellent Universities’ supporting outstanding students enrolled in excellent universities in Asian countries, and ‘Asia Opinion Leader Fellowship’ that contributes to mutual understanding and cooperation improvement between Korea and Asian countries by inviting opinion leaders of developing Asian countries.
