Hi, my name is Rhea, currently working in PT POSCO Indonesia Inti at Stakeholder Relations Department. I was recommended to participate in this program by my superior since my jobs is related to externals parties, so I was very enthusiastic to join this meaningful program in order to develop myself and improving my communication skill.

The AOL(Asia Opinion Leadership) Program which was held in two prestigious Universities (SNU and POSTECH) on August 26th – September 7th, 2019 was a great opportunity in enhancing my knowledge on the rapid development of South Korea that brought the country as one of the developed country in Asia. This program was well designed to get what you need to understand about South Korea, its culture and its industrialisations through field trips and cultural activities.

From the lectures I gained plenty of insights about Korean experience in developing the economy, and the most important thing is the key factors that other country could learn, or even imitate, to reach what South Korea have achieved so far. Not only about South Korea but through the action plan discussion and presentation, we were expected to understand the issue in our country, and tried to find out the most suitable solution by applying SWOT analysis. The Best Presentation was granted to my team by raising the topic about “Export Oriented Industrialization”.

This program has changed me to be more confident in public speaking and in expressing my opinion in relation to my department of Stakeholder Relations. I also see problems from many perspectives and think critically by processing the information received in solving the problems.

I highly recommend this program and will promote it to be widely known to the institutions or government bodies in Indonesia. If you want to build the network among leaders from Asian countries, you must participate in this Asia Opinion Leadership Program.

One of participants from Indonesia, La Ode Ikrar Hastomi told me that he gained a promotion as Deputy Director at his work, Ministry of Industry. Joining AOL program was a worthy experience for him.

“This program has given me a good impression of Korea, a hardworking, discipline and unyielding country who started everything from the ashes of war and become one of the most developed nations in the world. This experience has given me not only enthusiasm but also encouragement to contribute more in the development of Indonesia with the spirit of collaboration with South Korea. I hope POSCO could expand this program by inviting more of Indonesian Government officer to broader their insight to see opportunities of future collaboration with South Korea.” Hastomi said.
