The POSCO TJ Park Foundation is an independent and non-profit organization fully financed by POSCO, one of global leading steelmakers. The Foundation has been contributing to the future of Asia by expanding its range of the social responsibilities through cultivating leadership for the next generation, realizing Asian networking, and sharing project for public interests.
 
[About]
Research grants are provided for scholars who study in liberal arts and social sciences field to facilitate mutual understanding and to promote cooperation between Asian countries.
 
— Research themes
- Any topics in the fields of liberal arts and social sciences concerning Asia
 
[Eligibility Requirements]
 
— Full-time faculty members and research staff at universities or asia-related research center in Asia
- Applicants for a research grant may be citizens of any country.
- Ph.D. holder
— Grantees may not hold a POSCO TJ Park Foundation grant for funding from another organization with the same research theme.
— A research theme that have not been published in any kinds of journals.
 
[Terms of Award]
 
— Research Grants are awarded for periods of 1 year (May 1, 2015 ~ April 30, 2016)
— The value amount of grant is up to US$10,000 per project.
- Researchers are requested to make application after calculating your budget appropriately according to each subject. The value amount of grant can be adjusted after discussions between the foundation and the applicant.
 
- Grants Payment Method
1) 50% of the total: after completing agreement on the research grants
2) 30% of the total: after receiving and appraising an interim report (by Oct 31, 2015)
3) 20% of the total: after receiving and appraising a final report (by Apr 30, 2016)
 
[Application Guidelines]
 
— Application should be submitted by email between Dec 1, 2014 ~ Jan 30, 2015
— Applications should include the following:
(1) Application Form
- Application Form/ Curriculum Vitae
(for the person in charge of study, joint researcher(s), in chronological/tabular form, max. 3 pages)
 
(2) Research Proposal
- Research Plan/ Details for Project Budget
(3) Research Proposal Abstract

—  All applications should be submitted by Jan 30, 2015 via e-mail
* Once submitted, applications cannot be modified or returned.
 
[Additional Notes]
— Both independent and joint studies on subjects are possible for application.
— The project team members who are the recipients of research grants from other research funding institutions on a certain research topic are not allowed to apply for grants or participate in the projects of the Research Grant Program with the same topic.
— All applications and research papers should be written in English (MS word only).
— A result of research should be published in the Journals(A&HCI, SSCI or Journals which have been registered National Research Foundation of Korea) or as a book.
