The Raphael Clinic (located in Seongbuk, Seoul) offers free treatment and relief
activities to migrant workers, bringing hope and courage to the disadvantaged.
Treatment first began at Hyehwa Catholic Church with 30 patients, but now takes place every Sunday at the Raphael Center and Dongducheon Clinic in Seongbuk-dong. There are also mobile clinics in Chuncheon and Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, where 30 medical staffs and 150 volunteers treat 1500 people per month.
It started with only two boxes of medicine, but has grown into a general hospital with 17 departments including internal medicine, dentistry, and obstetrics. 210,000 patients from 75 countries including Philippines, Vietnam, Mongolia, and Nigeria have been treated. It is part of a network of some 60 tier 2 hospitals which handles precision testing, surgery, and treatment needed by patients in hospital with serious illnesses.
Its spirit of sharing and love is expanding to the world with the implementation of on-site medical training and medical support in Mongolia, Nepal, Myanmar, etc. through the launch of Raphael International for international medical support in 2007.
