Executive Director Choi Yeon-soo is a field-oriented practitioner who has dedicated 34 years to supporting the education and self-reliance of at-risk youth outside the formal school system.
Beginning with street outreach counseling in 1992, he identified and supported vulnerable youth living in underserved communities. He went on to establish and operate alternative educational institutions, including the School of Love, providing continuous learning opportunities to more than 2,000 young people who had been excluded from mainstream education.
In addition, he has supported the protection and social reintegration of at-risk youth through his work as a correctional committee member, the operation of mobile counseling centers, and the establishment of group homes. By promoting vocational training, entrepreneurship support, and job creation, he has helped build sustainable foundations for youth self-reliance and enabled them to grow into healthy and productive members of society.
Furthermore, he has developed a systematic support model that connects identification, education, protection, and self-reliance, while fostering a virtuous cycle in which former beneficiaries contribute back to society. His efforts have also expanded to supporting vulnerable youth both in Korea and abroad, demonstrating a strong commitment to creating sustainable social value.
