Achievement
'1st generation bioengineer' who led the rescue of the domestic DNA research infrastructure through the development of proprietary technology.

Park Han-oh, the founder of biotech venture BIONEER, has contributed greatly to the establishment and expansion of South Korea's life science research infrastructure through over 30 years of continuous research and development in DNA synthesis, amplification, extraction reagents, and related equipment.

As a first-generation bioengineer and entrepreneur, he has particularly made significant contributions to the global status of South Korea's biotechnology capabilities by developing a semi-automated molecular diagnostic system capable of testing 96 DNA samples at once, which helped contribute to the early eradication of the H1N1 flu epidemic in 2009, and by establishing the world's largest synthetic DNA mass production and supply system.
