Zhao Wen-li, Assistant Secretary-General of Beijing University Education Fund, said “ POSCO Asia Fellowship, one of the oldest scholarships of Beijing University, can be a good example for Beijing University students as an exemplary case of realizing POSCO's corporate value.”   On November 21, POSCO China held '2019 POSCO TJ Park Foundation POSCO Asia Fellowship Scholarship Award Ceremony in Beijing. The POSCO China Representative Corporation held the scholarship awards at Beijing University and Tsinghua University to award and encourage 30 POSCO Asia Fellowship Scholarship students. More than 40 people attended the ceremony, including Mankyo Seo, Vice-President of POSCO China.   Mankyo Seo, said, "I hope that you students will be more devoted to your studies and become leaders promoting the mutual prosperity of Korea and China and the development of Asia." The selected students on the day will receive a scholarship of CNY 7,000 per person.   Zhao Wen-li, Assistant Secretary-General of Beijing University Education Fund, said "The POSCO TJ Park Foundation Asia Fellowship Scholarship is one of the oldest scholarships of Beijing University. Many of the world's leading companies initiated offering scholarships to Beijing University at similar time or earlier than POSCO, but not a few of them stopped because of bankruptcy or deteriorating management circumstances. On the other hand, POSCO has not only achieved self-development by overcoming the economic recession with continuous innovation and efforts and recording the world's best steel competitiveness for a decade in a row, but has consistently provided scholarships to Beijing University for 14 years. In particular, the amount of scholarships has been on the rise. Taking this opportunity, I would like to praise POSCO's continuous development through competitiveness improvement, and to express my sincere gratitude for your continued scholarship support. “POSCO's case of realizing corporate value will be a big exemplary case for Beijing University, especially scholarship students.”     Liu Xingwei, Beijing University Scholarship Student Representative, said, “POSCO scholarship is not only a material encouragement, but also a spiritual encouragement to the students. We will devote ourselves more to our studies, cherishing POSCO's entrepreneurial spirit and will grow up to be the great leaders needed by the nation, Asia and the world.”   The POSCO Asia Fellowship, currently supporting 21 universities in 11 Asian countries, has been in partnership with Beijing University since 2005 and has provided scholarships to 295 excellent students for 14 years. POSCO has been supporting Tsinghua University since in 2003, even before the POSCO TJ Park Foundation was established, and has provided scholarships to 335 students for 16 years, the largest number among Asian universities.   Meanwhile, the POSCO Asia Fellowship is a key project of the POSCO TJ Park Foundation to promote mutual understanding, exchange and cooperation among Asian countries.
